Cape Carnage: Killer Catch

This observational documentary series follows Captain Bruce and the Davey family, who make a living from one of the most dangerous and remote jobs on earth: hand-line fishing in the treacherous waters of northern Australia.

This is a high-risk, high-reward world where the eight-strong crew battle rough seas, killer sharks, and deadly crocodiles, hoping to reel in their fortune through the prized Spanish mackerel, which can weigh in at 30kgs per fish. The Daveys have just four months to haul in 45 tonnes of mackerel, enduring brutal challenges at every turn until they reach their ultimate destination: the infamous Cape Carnage.

And it’s not just the elements or the hungry predators that the Daveys must face. With three generations on board, the crew must also navigate a pressure-cooker of family rivalry, relationships, and raising two children under four – all on a 20-metre boat, in the middle of the Australian ocean.
